Out to dinner

Yay, Thursday has arrived! We have out department picnic in the park all afternoon (well it's just for my department so Mike will still be at work). Only the morning of work left for the week, too bad I have about 8 days worth of stuff I am supposed to get done. Peanut had a good day yesterday, we did something spontaneous and unheard of....we went out to dinner! Yes, we were amazed as well, out to dinner on a week night with Peanut. We thought we'd give it a shot. Grandma was here and it was her birthday yesterday so we decided why not. We went to Il Ritrovo, it's this really great wood fire Italian pizza place in town. Daphne did great. She was busy jumping and playing in our arms so she was definitely a handful but she remained happy the whole time, AND we got to eat our most favorite pizza for the first time in at least a year. Well I have tomorrow off so I'm not sure if there will be a post, it will be a surprise. If not, have a great weekend!

Undies on my head Wednesday

One more day of the week down and one more to go, that's reason enough to wear undies on my head! Ok not me, but Peanut at least. Yesterday was a good day, work was bearable and at school they said she is really starting to move around so that's exciting. They mentioned how she was on the playmat playing with toys and they looked away for a second and next thing they knew she had backwards scooted herself under one of the cribs and into a corner so she needed rescuing. Next week she will officially start her month as "Baby of the Month". That means she gets about 10 pictures of our choosing on the board outside the room with a little info about her. Let's just say I don't know who is more excited, Peanut or Mike. Well, ok Peanut has no clue but on the inside I think she is excited. Every time a new month rolls around and we are walking by the board Mike would bring up the topic of her being the baby of the month and thinking they had some evil scheme to skip her all together, needless to say that theory is shattered and on Monday all her pictures will be up. Teething Victory

Drum Roll.................. Toof #5 and Toof #6 are through the gum!!!!! Yeah, we made it and have all survived. We are hoping that this will bring back some of those more sleepy nights and happy days for Peanut. Yesterday she was a bit cranky, but if you consider the two teeth poking through she was in great spirits. Last night was a fitful sleep full of wiggles and fusses. She is already awake upstairs with Mike playing with some toys. Hopefully at daycare she can have a bit more fun now that they have poked through. Other then that everything is going well here. It's hot, 80ish and humid so we used the air for the second time this summer last night. Alright I'm off to start my day, I can hear my animals breaking all sorts of animal rules behind me this morning. Cat eating dog food, dog eating cat food, oh the insanity. Have a great Tuesday!

Routine Monday

Happy Monday everyone...hope you all had a great weekend. We had a nice stay at home and relax weekend, and even managed to get some much needed stuff done around the house. The bikes are finally registered even though it's almost August so now we can go on bike rides with Peanut. The back patio is the cleanest it's been all summer and the lawn is mowed, combined it looks like a whole new house! Our gutters have been cleaned (we hired someone to clean those), our laundry is done, there are no dishes by the sink, we had friends over for dinner on Saturday and grilled out, we filed some much needed paperwork from too long ago to mention, we picked raspberries at a friends house, we went to the farmers market, we went to the kids room at the library, we read books, had a stuffed animal party, we went on a walk, we went to Target, we rested, and all in all enjoyed the weekend.

Squash Day

Whew, we finally made it to the end of the week. Yesterday was a lot of fun, the weather was great and the afternoon in the park was a blast. We even got done at 3 so we got to pick Peanut up early. Today I will be going to work, since I took Monday off. One more week and my 4 day weeks will officially start so all this screwy schedule stuff can be over. Daphne is doing good, her next teeth are almost through now, hopefully over the weekend that issue will be resolved. She is being a trooper about it though. Today we are going to send some squash to school with her to see if she will eat any while she is there, should be interesting. This weekend we plan on doing NOTHING mixed with some relaxing and farmers market. Have a great weekend everyone!

Day in the Park

Good Morning everyone. Today we are on a bit of a different schedule because at work it is a "fun" day. We have an awards ceremony in the morning and a picnic all afternoon, so we get to go into work later. It should be a fun day, even though I wish Peanut could be there with us. Oh well, we will cut out early and go pick her up.

Tiny White Hat

Well we all made it through the day yesterday, and now we are already halfway through the week! Daphne had a good day at school. They now have another new baby in her room, that's two new babies in the last couple weeks. It won't be long until she moves over to the other side of the wall with all the big kids, my how time flies. Have a great Wednesday everyone!

Recovery Tuesday

Good Morning, we're back! I'm sure you all missed the morning updates and we are really glad to be home. We had a great 4 day weekend and a fun time at the music festival. The weather wasn't the warmest but all in all it was a lot of fun. Daphne did amazingly well at the festival and everyone loved her (to be expected, of course). We made it home yesterday and arrived ready for a vacation from our vacation. The overwhelming urge to stay home today and recover is huge, unfortunately we need to start our weekly routine. Peanut's rash has really cleared up so that is a big relief. Her teeth are doing good, 4 through total and still waiting on the other top two. She has been doing well with her eating and so far has tried pears, peaches, sweet potatoes, and squash. She's also had tiny tastes of apple, avocado, cheerios, banana and brown rice. She doesn't have a favorite at this point, seeing as her version of eating is only allowing food in when she forgets to keep her mouth closed. But we just wait patiently knowing there will be a day when we can't keep up with her little appetite. Hope you all had a safe and happy weekend and great start to your week.

Butt Cream

Thank goodness it's Thursday. We have made it to the end of our week. We will be driving to Marquette tomorrow morning for the weekend and won't be back here until Monday so it will be a few days without a post. We are all patiently waiting for the next two teeth to come in so we can start sleeping at night again. Last night was full of tooth pain and interrupted sleep for everyone. Hopefully the next time I post we will have two more teeth through the gums and one less diaper rash. Who ever thought that becoming a parent meant spending more on butt creams in a week then food or more time drying out a baby's bottom then was spent watching t.v. Have a great weekend everyone! Mommy Gym

Peanut has officially taken on a new past time. She loves to crawl all over mom. If I lay down with her next to me her favorite thing to do is prop her arms up on my belly and her knees on the bed and just start rocking and scooting and hitting my belly. If I hold her she puts both feet and both arms straight out so she can try to crawl on me while I'm holding her. Gone are the days of the little blob of cuddles and onto bigger and more wiggly times. She is also holding strong against the evil teeth and horrible diaper rash. We were up to change her last night twice so we can hopefully beat this thing. Let's just say it's really hard to get up to change a sleeping baby twice. We had a thunderstorm last night so that was fun to listen to after I was laying there trying to fall back asleep from changing her. Other then that today will be business as usual. Grammer and Sentence Structure

So it has come to my attention that I have horrible grammer, spelling and sentence structure in my morning posts. I think I knew this all along but after reading through some yesterday, yikes, it's an embarrassment. I know this is due to the fact that it's about 5:30am here, I just got out of bed and am still 80% asleep and I have a 15 minute window to type this up and post it, but still no excuse. I will make an attempt to always spell check and try to fit in a proof reading so i don't cringe when I reread my own posts. Any way, on to Peanut updates... Her top two middle teeth are through the gums and the two other top teeth are on there way, I can tell because last night she would fuss in her sleep and move around a lot like she does before they come through. Also,the most annoying diaper rash in the world is still there, and I am pretty sure it's due to teething. So we just have to make it through the next set and we will have a 30 minute break before the rest start up. Think beating diaper rash thoughts today so we don't have to have another visit to the doctor! The above picture is Peanut practicing her crawling.

Weekend Morning Routine

We had a great weekend. The weather was nice and we mostly hung around the house getting stuff done. Today will highlight our weekend morning routine, from Peanut's view...
I have to get up when just a little bit of light starts to poke through those holes in the wall in our room, otherwise I'm pretty sure I miss a bunch of interesting things to watch. I usually wake up and smile real big at mom, but her eyes are still closed so the only way to get her attention is grab those things sticking off her face and put my toes all over her belly....ahhhh there, she's awake and now will see my big giant smile...wait, what?! she closed her eyes again. Oh well, I'll have to start singing my morning songs without her, EYEYEYEYEYEYEYEEYENANNANADADADADADADEIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII, oh look I think dad's awake now, hmmmm, wait never mind, he just rolled over, but mom is definitely awake now. Oh and what's she doing, she's moving me across the bed, yeeeehaw, yes now I'm right by dad, time to do some gentle touching of my feet to his back, AHAHAHAHAHA (not sure what gentle is but this must be it). Yes! dad's awake now too, and mom's still awake, now we can watch the interesting things together... hmmmm I need to grab my feet and roll around for awhile, munch a toe maybe, roll on to my belly, rock on my hands and knees, man what a blast weekend mornings are....uh-oh im getting very tired but I must continue on, don't want to miss the interesting things. Oh boy, my eyes, my face, the exhaustion, don't show mom and dad, dont show them.....oh what, you want me to nap now, I refuse, no way, absolutely not....well maybe for a second, hmmmm ahhhh sleep.......

7 Months

Today Daphne is 7 month old! So I have decided to do an honorary 7 month post.

Daphne at 7 months:
Has 3 teeth through the gums
Has 3 more almost through the gums
Loves to chew on anything and everything
Loves brown paper lunch bags, remotes, cellphones and iPod's
Laughs hysterically at Zeus for just walking by
Squeals at Oscar and Zoe whenever she sees them
Rolls all over the house
Loves to be naked

Gets on her hands and knees and rocks
Scoots backwards
Waves her hand bye bye
Eats some foods (favorite is apple slices)

Likes frozen wash clothes
Is now out of her infant seat and in her big girl car seat

Wears 12 months clothes
Weighs 16lbs 10.5oz
Can sit up by herself


Loves to be held
Is happy all the time
Makes Mom and Dad smile and laugh 1000 times a day

Time Flies

Good Morning everyone. It is Thursday, the end of my week! Yes! I am so happy to have tomorrow off, just have to make it through today. Daphne had a good day yesterday, nothing too eventful, it seems like her teeth are bothering her a bit less at school so that's good. Still only the one is poking through but there are at least 2 more on their way, I think she set a personal goal to see home many she could get though in one teething session. I'm sure this is a good thing and will shorten the overall teething process but it feels like a teething sprint. Other then her teeth she is doing great. Really scooting all over now and can almost get on her hands and knees. She is sitting up really well too! She will be 7 months on Saturday, oh wow how time flies! I can't believe it's already been 7 month and how much she has changed...sigh. Anyway, we took a little break from food due to some diaper rash issues but hopefully this weekend we can start it up again. She did have a bit of her favorite last night, apple slice. I don't know why that her favorite but she seems to love to hold on to it and chew it. Have a great Thursday, I will most likely be posting tomorrow morning as well!

I think I can, I think I can

Good Morning, I'm not sure what's going on with the blog website but I am having issues posting pictures. Might be as simple as restarting my computer but I will probably have to wait until after work to do that so....no picture again, I know, I'm bummed too! I have such good one's from the weekend. Well since one of the main draws here is the picture I will just give a brief update. Yesterday Peanut had a better day at school. She was happier then Monday so that's good news. Her teeth are still working there way through so we might have another rough day along the way. Have a great Wednesday and hopefully the pictures will be up tomorrow.

The Breakthrough

Sorry everyone, there is an issue with posting pictures today!!!
It has finally happened, one of the "toofs" has officially made it through the gums. I can feel it with my finger! Hopefully the rest are on their way so this little peanut can once again feel like her happy self. Monday was an alright day, her teeth were hurting her at daycare so she didn't have the best time. Only napped and ate a little bit. Chewed on frozen wash clothes alot. Work was just alright, nothing great to report. Today we are having a cleaning service come and clean our hardwood floors....on their hands and knees! We thought this might be a good idea since Peanut is almost on the move. This weekend we might be baby proofing. Have a great Tuesday!

Good Morning Sunshine

Yet another Monday, and after a long holiday weekend. Those are always the hardest Monday's to deal with. We had a great 4th of July and weekend home. Peanut did really well on the trip there and back. We had fun visiting all the family and even made it to the Farmer's Market the 4th of July Parade. The infamous toofs have still not broken through yet, we were really hoping they would make it through this weekend so she might have an easier week but looks like they are waiting it out. She is getting closer and closer to crawling everyday now and just loves to schooch around on the floor. We got to watch the parade from the upstairs Soetaert apartment so she really loved it, it gave her a great view of everything without the extreme closeups that might be scary. Here favortive was the high school band (picture above). Other then that we have a pretty standard week ahead of us. I am dreading the daycare drop off and work, if only I could just stay home all the time. Hope you have a great Monday and a fast week...

Teeth - 3 Mom/Dad -0

Yay, it's the end of the week! 1/2 day of work and school today for all of us and then we are heading to Marquette. I ended up taking a 1/2 day yesterday to see if I could get rid of this cold once and for all, hopefully it worked. Peanut is still trudging along with a little mouth full of raging tiny teeth trying to get out. She had kind of a rough night, ok mostly just rough for me, she will probably be happy as a clam this morning. The infamous teeth have yet to break through but are so close you can see the little ridges on her gums. Oh the relief for everyone when they finally come in! It will be interesting to see how the car trip home goes with these little buggers, wish us luck. Today's picture is an attempt to show that her hair is growing in! If you pull out your magnifying glass you can see her tiny little mini hair clip, only the cutest thing ever! I probably won't post again until Monday and if I do it will be a bonus...have a really great 4th of July weekend, have fun and be safe.

We found the culprits...

Good Morning everyone. We now know why Peanut has been so "off" lately, the little white parts of her teeth are peeking through on top! Yep, she about to have 2 more "toofs" (as you can tell we are strict about correct english). They haven't broken through yet but they are very close. That's good to know, she had a rough day at school yesterday and when we got there she was crying, which has only happened maybe 2 times or so. Hopefully the teeth with come on through and she can start feeling better. Nothing exciting at work today, same old, same old. Have a great Wednesday!
